Neil Dudgeon

Neil Dudgeon (born January 2, 1961) is an English actor known primarily for his television roles. He is most famous for taking over the lead role of <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/DCI%20John%20Barnaby">DCI John Barnaby</a> in the long-running ITV detective drama Midsomer Murders, beginning in 2011, after the departure of John Nettles.

Before landing the lead role in Midsomer Murders, Dudgeon had already made a guest appearance in the series, in the episode "The Garden of Death" (2000), playing a different character.

Throughout his career, Dudgeon has appeared in numerous other British television shows, including Common As Muck, Men Behaving Badly, Between the Lines, Inspector Morse, A Touch of Frost, The Mrs Bradley Mysteries, Roman's Empire, Elizabeth, Life of Riley and Outnumbered.

Dudgeon was educated at Magdalen College School in Oxford, and later studied drama at the University of Bristol. He is married to radio producer Mary Peate, and they have two children.

While he is known for his serious acting roles, Dudgeon has also demonstrated comedic talent. His portrayal of the intelligent and observant <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/DCI%20John%20Barnaby">DCI John Barnaby</a> in Midsomer Murders allows him to display both his dramatic and comedic skills, contributing to the show's continued success.
